The Subaru EZ30 engine is a 3.0L naturally aspirated horizontally opposed six-cylinder gasoline engine from Subaru's EZ engine family. With 2,999 cc displacement, DOHC 24-valve construction and a boxer-six configuration, the EZ30 was developed for larger Subaru passenger cars and SUVs.<\/p>
The EZ30 was produced in different generations with significant changes to the cylinder heads, intake system, throttle control and variable valve technology. Depending on the version, output is approximately 220\u2013245 hp and 289\u2013297 Nm.<\/p>
The EZ30 uses Subaru's horizontally opposed six-cylinder layout, aluminum engine construction, DOHC 24-valve cylinder heads and electronic fuel injection. The later version received updated cylinder heads, drive-by-wire throttle control, AVCS and AVLS technology.<\/p>
The EZ30 has a 2,999 cc displacement with an 89.2 mm bore and 80.0 mm stroke. The early version produces approximately 220 hp and 289 Nm, while the later updated version produces approximately 245 hp and 297 Nm.<\/p>
The EZ30 was used in Subaru models including the Legacy, Legacy 3.0R, Legacy GT30, Legacy RS30, Legacy Lancaster 6, Outback H6, Outback 3.0R and Tribeca. Exact engine configuration varies by generation and market.<\/p>
The later EZ30 version is frequently referred to as \u201cEZ30R\u201d in the aftermarket, but Subaru's official engine designation remained EZ30D for the updated version. Early and later EZ30 engines should not be assumed to interchange directly.<\/p>
